About
I spend my spare time writing about early Cajun music from the perspective of the early recording history and the impact it created on modern musicians.
Raised in a Cajun music family, my father Randy spent over 45 years building Cajun accordions and I've played Cajun music since childhood. Outside of my career as an electrical engineer, I'm a husband and father of four. Most of my creative time is focused on documenting the history of early commercial Cajun music industry. This has led to several projects including the biography of Joe Falcon, Cleoma Breaux and the Breaux Brothers, the biography and music career of Leroy "Happy Fats" Leblanc, and the Encyclopedia of Commercial Cajun & Creole Recordings: The 78 RPM Era. I create content for the "Early Cajun Music" blog and have published several articles about various topics on Louisiana history.
